SUMMARY:June 4 | Luke Winslow-King w/ Silver Creek Revival
DESCRIPTION:Luke Winslow-King’s latest album is an example of craftsmanship at the highest level\, radiating a warmth and timeless elegance. Adept at mixing country\, blues\, R&B\, rock ‘n’ roll\, and folk influences intuitively and masterfully\, Luke shapes a mood from many sources and shepherds it to a unifying place of acceptance and hope. Blue Mesa is both stately and approachable\, manifestly proficient but deeply personal. \nWhat sets this album above the singer and guitarist’s previous work is how he’s absorbed the offerings of a life in music. Born and raised in the Northern Michigan town of Cadillac\, he moved to New Orleans at 19 and spent the next 15 years fully immersing himself in the musical waters that flow through there. Now that he’s moved on\, it is the larger world\, and the people and places in it\, that enthralls him. From these travels and friendships comes a deeper and richer perspective on the American musical traditions he fell in love with at an early age. \nFrom the first track\, Luke effortlessly draws the listener into his genre-expansive\, dynamic world. “You Got Mine\,” co-written with friend and legendary local musician “Washboard” Lissa Driscoll (who passed away in September 2017)\, enchants with its laid back grace. Delicate touches of Paul Simon and Robert Cray color this paean to unconditional friendship and camaraderie. With crisp guitar lines evoking Mike Campbell\, the gospel-tinged call-to-action “Break Down the Walls” and the easy-country amble “After the Rain” sit astride the solemn and the uplifting. The subtle Stax-inflected soul of the title track casts a disintegrating relationship against the inspirational scenery of the desert Southwest. “Farewell Blues\,” a song written after he found out about his late father’s cancer diagnosis\, has a resolute drifter’s wandering heart to guide it. \nBut no matter where he goes\, the current of the Crescent City still tugs at Luke’s music. The sweaty riffs of “Thought I Heard You” are as hot as the beer is cold and the syncopated horns on “Chicken Dinner” are a big\, playful flirtation. The psychedelic swamp boogie of “Leghorn Women” brims with charm\, both suave and sinister\, while the Tom-Petty-on-the-levee vibe of “Born to Roam” makes it a classic-in-the-making road trip anthem. \nBlue Mesa was recorded across the globe in the Tuscan fortress village of Lari\, Italy and features long-time collaborator and Italian blues guitar dynamo Roberto Luti\, Chris Davis of King James and the Special Men\, and Mike Lynch (Bob Seger\, Larry McCray) on organ\, among others. \nLuke Winslow-King has collaborated with New Orleans legends and wunderkinds alike\, including Dr. John\, John Boutté\, Luti\, Little Freddy King\, Washboard Chaz\, and Meschiya Lake. In addition to holding down residencies at numerous venues and releasing four studio records over the course of nine years\, he has toured extensively in North America and Europe\, appearing on notable stages such as Austin City Limits\, New Orleans JazzFest\, Azkena Rock Festival (Spain)\, Paradiso (Netherlands)\, Maverick Festival (UK)\, and countless more. \nhttps://lukewinslowking.com/ \nhttps://www.facebook.com/LukeWinslowKingMusic/ \nBUY TICKETS HERE: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/luke-winslow-king-w-silver-creek-revival-tickets-307671041367 \nCABINS AVAILABLE TO RENT HERE: https://coyotecrossing.client.innroad.com/

SUMMARY:May 13 | Dave Bruzza & Unsafe at any Speed
DESCRIPTION:Dave Bruzza is a multi instrumentalist\, songwriter\,  and founding member of Greensky Bluegrass. For 20 years he has toured the country with GSBG and has performed solo as well as with side projects such as Airborne or Aquatic? and his own band Unsafe at any Speed. Dave grew up in Michigan and had an interest in music since he was young. Taking up the drums at a very young age he was dedicated to playing and exploring all the possibilities of music. He developed a taste for bluegrass in his teenage years and was given a guitar from a friend to learn how to play. Soon after Greensky was born and his career has been constant since then. \nHe has contributed and performed on every release of Greensky Bluegrass. As well as every show and tour in the bands career. Dave helped found the psychedelic folk rock band Airborne or Aquatic? in the early 2000’s in  Michigan with friends and peers Jake Robinson\, Seth Bernard and Susan Fawcett and other artists from Earthwork Music. He has appeared on all their albums and has performed in most of the incarnations of the band through the years. He and friend Ian Gorman released a duo record “Harmony on the Fade” in 2012. This album was a great place for both musicians to demonstrate their multi instrumentalist talents and collaborate on a collection of original material. \nDave has also appeared as a guest on albums. Most recently on Seth Bernard’s “My Heart is My Home” on Earthwork Music.  \nIn 2018 he formed Dave Bruzza Unsafe at any Speed for a short run of shows in the midwest. The response was so positive he has made this a regular project in Greenskys downtime. \nBUY TICKETS HERE: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/dave-bruzza-unsafe-at-any-speed-tickets-301566472437  \nThis event is open to ages 18 and over.  *Cabins available to rent here: https://coyotecrossing.client.innroad.com/ \n  \n

SUMMARY:September 4 | The Insiders
DESCRIPTION:BUY YOUR TICKETS IN ADVANCE HERE: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-insiders-live-show-tickets-151845827959 \nClose your eyes and you won’t know the difference. Open them and you still might be fooled. The Insiders present the premier Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers experience. With 6 veteran musicians and decades of combined stage and touring experience\, The Insiders are genuinely running down the dream. \nIt all starts with frontman Max Lockwood. “I grew up listening to Tom. My mom would play Tom Petty’s Greatest Hits while she worked out. I’d sit at the top of the stairs and listen to those songs—it was my most requested CD at the age of 6.” In high school\, Lockwood’s band Big Dudee Roo started covering Mary Jane’s Last Dance at their frequent shows in West Michigan.  “Tom was part of the great American landscape to me—a legend by the time I was musically conscious. We got a great crowd reaction with Petty tunes\, and people frequently commented that I sounded authentically ‘Petty’.” \nNothing has changed with time. After the passing of Tom Petty in October of 2017\, Lockwood organized the band by pulling together some of his favorite musicians for a benefit concert. After a sold-out show that raised thousands for a local domestic violence shelter The Insiders decided they wouldn’t back down. “We try to honor what Mr. Petty and the Heartbreakers have done for rock and roll each night. We’re fans of the music foremost. These songs are woven into the fabric of the American identity.” They’ve found no shortage of demand\, selling out shows everywhere they go in the first year of the band’s existence. Local Spins’ John Sinkevics had this to say: “The Insiders set the bar at a new level for Tom Petty tributes.” \nThe Insiders currently tour the Midwest and are based in Grand Rapids\, Michigan. They are available for public and private functions in the Great Lakes Region and beyond.

SUMMARY:August 21 | Drew Hale Band W/ Sam Morrow
DESCRIPTION:Link to purchase tickets: https://mynorthtickets.com/events/drew-hale-band-w-sam-morrow-live-show-8-21-2021 \nOpening with Sam Morrow! \nSAM MORROW – Two years before releasing Gettin’ By on Gettin’ Down — the most guitar-driven\, groove-heavy album of Sam Morrow’s catalog\, with songs that roll just as hard as they rock — Morrow hit the highway in support of his third record\, Concrete & Mud. Despite the 28-year-old being a road warrior for years\, this time things felt different. Joined by a band of amplified roots-rockers\, Morrow spent eighteen months traveling halfway across the world\, playing Concrete & Mud songs to the biggest audiences of his career. By the time the dust settled\, he’d become a staple of Americana radio on both sides of the Atlantic\, with outlets like Rolling Stone and NPR singing his praises.  \nThose road miles set the stage for Gettin’ By on Gettin’ Down\, a modern album that revisits — and reshapes — the primordial sounds of hip-shaking rock & roll. These nine songs are rooted in grease\, grit\, and groove\, from the swampy soul of “Round ‘N Round” to the funky syncopation of “Rosarita” to the hook-laden rock of “Money Ain’t a Thing.” There’s hardly an acoustic guitar in sight; instead\, amplifiers and guitar pedals rule the roost\, with everything driven forward by percussive rhythms that owe as much to R&B as country music. Written and recorded in the wake of Concrete & Mud‘s acclaimed tour\, Gettin’ By on Gettin’ Down doubles down on the electrified fire and fury of Sam Morrow’s live shows\, with a road-ready band joining him on every song. \nThis is the sharpest songwriting of Sam Morrow’s career\, rooted in a mix of autobiography and wry social commentary. Gettin’ By on Gettin’ Down is an album that focuses not only on what its frontman says\, but how he says it. \n“My favorite rock & roll is the stuff that has groove to it\,” says Morrow\, a native Texan who kickstarted his music career after moving to Los Angeles\, where he’s since become one of the city’s biggest roots-music exports. “I want to make music like that — funky\, layered rock where it’s not just the songwriting that’s important\, but the presentation\, too.” \nTo find the right presentation\, Morrow turned to drummer Matt Tecu\, whose versatility as a percussionist had landed him a spot in the documentary Echo in the Canyon\, backing up West Coast icons like Jakob Dylan\, Brian Wilson and Neil Young. The two had spent months on the road together\, touring their way from coast to coast\, steadily growing Morrow’s sound into something that nodded to — but was no longer defined by — the country music he’d grown up with. Looking to funnel the spirit of those concerts into a studio recording\, Morrow asked Tecu to send him a series of drum beats\, which the frontman then turned into songs with help from co-producer Eric Corne. The grooves served as building blocks for the music that followed\, anchoring Gettin’ By on Gettin’ Down in a rhythmic\, full-bodied sound whose mix of country\, rock\, and funk influences nodded to Morrow’s genre-bending heroes: Little Feat\, Los Lobos\, Queens of the Stone Age\, and even David Bowie.  \nWhile recording the album at an L.A.-area studio owned by The Doors’ guitarist Robby Krieger\, Morrow and Corne embraced their experimental side\, focusing on layered arrangements that were as unique as the songs themselves. They added a T. Rex-worthy\, fuzz-rock riff to the title track. They punctuated “Rosarita” with a slide guitar wrapped in wah-wah wooziness. They filled “Round ‘N Round” with blue notes and swung swagger. Over six days\, they pieced together the Gettin’ By on Gettin’ Down tracklist\, with help from guest musicians like guitarist Doug Pettibone and bassist Taras Prodaniuk\, both veterans of Lucinda Williams’ band. The result is a record that builds a bridge between Morrow’s command as a frontman and bandleader — a record\, in other words\, that pairs sharply-written insight from a songwriter at the top of his game with the raw\, rocking slash-and-burn of a band stocked with roots-music heavyweights. \nTouring the world will widen your perspective. Morrow still shines a light on his own experience with Gettin’ By on Gettin’ Down\, whose songs spin true-life stories of new relationships\, old flames\, the battle to remain upbeat during downtrodden times\, and the lingering temptation of the vices that once clouded his vision. He switches to a wider lens on several songs\, though\, penning lyrics about a modern world obsessed with Instagram filters and virtual interactions. \n“I’m taking my own flaws\, and flaws we have socially\, and poking fun of them a bit\,” he explains. “I’ve been known to have songs that are really serious and grim\, but that’s not exactly who I am. I’ve just always had an aversion to doing what everyone else is doing. It’s this punk-rock attitude\, where if you tell me I’m supposed to do something specific\, I’m gonna do something else. Maybe that’s a character defect…but it is what it is.” \nIt’s no character defect. With Gettin’ By on Gettin’ Down\, Sam Morrow reminds us that the things that set him apart are the very same things that help him stand out. \n  \nDREW HALE – Throughout Michigan\, the name Drew Hale is synonymous with powerful vocals\, compelling lyrics and haunting melodies. SUMMARY:August 7 | Michigan Rattlers
DESCRIPTION:BUY YOUR TICKETS HERE: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/michigan-rattlers-live-show-tickets-151845115829\nLifelong friends and deep-north natives\, Michigan Rattlers play heavy-hearted folk-rock with an aching dose of Midwestern nice. Graham Young (guitar)\, Adam Reed (upright bass)\, and Christian Wilder (piano) began writing music and performing together in their Northern Michigan high school.\n“Petoskey is a small place. Beautiful\, but secluded. It’s hard to start a musical career in a place where there are more deer than people.”\nStill\, they regularly played every bar\, cafe\, and stage in town\, developing a musical chemistry informed by the likes of AC/DC\, Creedence Clearwater Revival\, Bob Seger\, and more.\nAfter a few years apart\, Reed and Young settled down in Los Angeles\, recorded a short demo\, and began playing locally. The demo found its way into the hands of super-producer Johnny K (Plain White T’s\, 3 Doors Down)\, and they cut the bulk of their first EP at NRG Studios in just one day.\n“My favorite music is recorded that way\,” continues Reed. “You get in a room\, plugin\, and cut songs live. The energy of the recording comes directly from the physical performance\, and it puts the listener into that specific time and place.”\nThis self-titled Michigan Rattlers EP attracted glowing reviews from No Depression\, Bluegrass Situation\, B3 Science\, and Rolling Stone\, who named the band one of their “Ten New Country Artists You Need To Know” in 2016. They spent the rest of that year and much of the next touring in support of this release.\nIn September 2017\, Pianist Christian Wilder was added to the band’s lineup. Now a trio\, the group headed into the studio to record their newest EP\, Wasting the Meaning. Comprised of three cover songs\, the project was conceived as a way to explore deeper into the recording process and pay homage to some of their favorite songwriters.\n\nhttps://www.facebook.com/michiganrattlers/\nhttp://www.michiganrattlers.com/

In the world of today we would be called Americana\, for there are no songs about Trucks or beer. We do our own songs with lyrical content ranging from the epidemic of Crystal Methamphetamine to story’s of youth\, family and love. Through our music\, we try to inspire truth\, a simple yet lost concept of the world we know today. through our performance\, you will hear hints of Bluegrass\, Rock\, Country Western and maybe even Metal music for our inspiration and backgrounds vary quite differently. This band is made up of all family and close friends from a part of the world that is often overlooked but holds some of the hardest working men and women of the United States. We aim for a raw honest sound and try to channel days that are gone by being us\, not sticking to a stereotypical recipe that is so often supported and held high\, and by doing that we come out with an old-timey but relevant noise that we hope translates to all.” – Myron Elkins and the Dying Breed

DESCRIPTION:Prepurchase tickets at: https://mynorthtickets.com/events/roosevelt-diggs-makeup-live-show-7-30-2021 \nMusic is felt\, not heard. Live music is an exchange of emotions from musician to audience and back again. It is something that cannot be harnessed with a silver disk or mp3. Roosevelt Diggs brings the wide influences of four individuals into one painted landscape. They focus their obsession for music into this live music setting…..for true Roosevelt Diggs\, experience it live…\nAn energetic blend of Folk\, Country\, Blues\, Bluegrass\, and Rock-n-Roll.\nIt is not only heart but blood that unites the core of Roosevelt Diggs. At its base: Two brothers\, Levi and Logan Duddles\, who have spent a lifetime creating and writing music together. With the addition of the musical backbone of Jon Shears on the upright bass and John Ellsworth on percussion\, they transformed from two brothers picking on stringed instruments to a band with a fire inside.\nMusically\, Roosevelt Diggs finds itself in the long-standing Michigan tradition of acoustic-based music. Blending Folk\, Country\, Bluegrass\, Blues\, Rockabilly\, and Rock and Roll into a melting pot of true Americana\, Roosevelt Diggs proudly carries on this tradition and brings a genuine approach to acoustic music.\nSince its beginning in 2008\, Roosevelt Diggs has made its way around Michigan performing in some of the finest concert venues\, breweries\, and festivals. Whether it’s a high-energy evening in your favorite brewery\, a Wednesday afternoon music in the park\, or the opening set for a sold-out nationally touring act\, their music was felt and embraced by audiences of all ages and musical preferences.\nRoosevelt Diggs released their third album\, “Better Days” in November of 2018. Better Days displays an evident growth in songwriting and arrangements from their 2014 release\, “Songs From The Shed”. The album captures a band with over a decade playing music together recording in one of the area’s finest studios\, Third Coast Recording. Better Days harnesses the energy and flow from their live shows along with the shine of a superb studio album. Better Days was awarded a 2019 WYCE “Jammie” for the Listener’s Choice Album Of The Year.

SUMMARY:July 17 | Double Show: Rachael Davis & Luke Winslow-King
DESCRIPTION:BUY YOUR TICKETS HERE: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/double-show-luke-winslow-king-and-rachael-davis-tickets-151844291363 \nLuke Winslow-King’s latest album is an example of craftsmanship at the highest level\, radiating a warmth and timeless elegance. \nhttps://lukewinslowking.com/ \nhttps://www.facebook.com/LukeWinslowKingMusic/ \n\nMulti-instrumentalist Rachael Davis is as renown for her expressive–and explosive–voice as she is for uniting the often disparate worlds of folk\, blues\, country\, and pop. \nDavis grew up not only in a family of musicians\, but in an extended village of remarkable musicians and songwriters who nurtured and mentored her from the time she was born. Beginning by jingling ankle bells in perfect time on her months old feet in the middle of old timey jams and song circles\, to contributing newly minted songs to Music Sundays\, Rachael has always found her own unique part in the music. Her clear tone and uncanny memory for just about every song she’s ever heard came early\, and has served her well throughout her career. As a child Davis took to harmony\, piano\, and ukulele\, and at 8\, joined the family band Lake Effect\, performing regularly at folk festivals throughout her home state of Michigan and around the U.S. By age 12\, and continuing each year since\, Rachael has brought the Wheatland Music Festival to its knees closing the Sunday morning gospel set with her stunning solo acapella version of Amazing Grace. \n\n“I was learning everything I could get my hands on and when I was 17\, my father gave me his Bart Reiter banjo and taught me to play clawhammer style\,” recalled Davis. “I like to joke that cursed me for life.” \n\nAt 20\, already a professional and deeply moved by traditional mountain music\, blues\, and ballads\, Davis composed and recorded her debut album “Minor League Deities\,” then with that\, and a heart full of promise Rachael Davis headed to Boston the day after the 911 attack. There she began performing in city subways and the streets of Cambridge. Within months she had made her mark on the Boston music scene winning the prestigious Boston Music Award for Best New Singer/Songwriter. \nDavis often found sanctuary in the city’s basement level record stores as well as Boston’s premier acoustic music clubs where she made fans and friends of local stage veterans Vance Gilbert\, Cheryl Wheeler\, Josh Ritter\, and indie rock’s parade float princess\, Mary Lou Lord. \nhttps://www.rachaeldavis.com/

SUMMARY:August 29 | Doug Henthorn Band
DESCRIPTION:Doug’s been changing the oil in a number of projects since founding and fronting the now disbanded blues-rock band Healing Sixes (2000-14). His debut release ‘Cold Medicine’ (2016) is a crafty and brooding songscape with more of a focus on voice and lyric than his previous H6’s era. His current release “The LLC” (2019) is a fun barebones rock record with a healthy dose of newly termed ‘Alternative Blues’. \nDoug is a singer\, guitarist\, songwriter\, performer and producer. Sometimes all at the same time. \nBesides his current solo project and Healing Sixes\, Doug has shared his voice and/or guitar skills with notables such as Joe Bonamassa\, John Hiatt\, Jason Bonham\, and Beth Hart to name a few.\nDoug performs and records all over the US and abroad while maintaining his residence in central Indiana. \nhttps://doughenthorn.com/home \nhttps://www.facebook.com/thehenthornllc/

SUMMARY:August 8 | Michigan Rattlers
DESCRIPTION:Come to Michigan Rattlers only scheduled show in 2020 at Coyote! Link to prepurchase tickets: https://www.facebook.com/events/307520726969362/\n\nOnly selling 125 tickets\, so get them while they’re still available!\n\nLifelong friends and deep-north natives\, Michigan Rattlers play heavy-hearted folk-rock with an aching dose of Midwestern nice.

SUMMARY:July 18 | Luke Winslow King
\nhttps://lukewinslowking.com/ \nhttps://www.facebook.com/LukeWinslowKingMusic/
