Most recently\, The Drew Hale Band won the Detroit Regional round of 93.1 NashFM’s Nash Next contest. \nInfluenced by Texas roots and artists such as Reckless Kelly and Eric Church\, the Drew Hale Band’s music pays homage to the red dirt country and southern rock scenes\, as well as paints a picture of their love for the people and culture of Michigan\, where the band calls home. SUMMARY:June 26 | Roosevelt Diggs
DESCRIPTION:Prepurchase tickets at https://mynorthtickets.com/events/roosevelt-diggs-live-6-26-2021 \nMusic is felt\, not heard. Live music is an exchange of emotions from musician to audience and back again. It is something that cannot be harnessed with a silver disk or mp3. Roosevelt Diggs brings the wide influences of four individuals into one painted landscape. They focus their obsession for music into this live music setting…..for true Roosevelt Diggs\, experience it live… \nAn energetic blend of Folk\, Country\, Blues\, Bluegrass\, and Rock-n-Roll. \nIt is not only heart but blood that unites the core of Roosevelt Diggs. At its base: Two brothers\, Levi and Logan Duddles\, who have spent a lifetime creating and writing music together. With the addition of the musical backbone of Jon Shears on the upright bass and John Ellsworth on percussion\, they transformed from two brothers picking on stringed instruments to a band with a fire inside.\nMusically\, Roosevelt Diggs finds itself in the long-standing Michigan tradition of acoustic-based music. Blending Folk\, Country\, Bluegrass\, Blues\, Rockabilly\, and Rock and Roll into a melting pot of true Americana\, Roosevelt Diggs proudly carries on this tradition and brings a genuine approach to acoustic music. \nSince its beginning in 2008\, Roosevelt Diggs has made its way around Michigan performing in some of the finest concert venues\, breweries\, and festivals. Whether it’s a high-energy evening in your favorite brewery\, a Wednesday afternoon music in the park\, or the opening set for a sold-out nationally touring act\, their music was felt and embraced by audiences of all ages and musical preferences.\nRoosevelt Diggs released their third album\, “Better Days” in November of 2018. Better Days displays an evident growth in songwriting and arrangements from their 2014 release\, “Songs From The Shed”. The album captures a band with over a decade playing music together recording in one of the area’s finest studios\, Third Coast Recording. Better Days harnesses the energy and flow from their live shows along with the shine of a superb studio album. Better Days was awarded a 2019 WYCE “Jammie” for the Listener’s Choice Album Of The Year.

SUMMARY:September 5 | Myron Elkins & The Dying Breed
DESCRIPTION:We’re welcoming Myron Elkins & The Dying Breed back to Coyote! The band played in March and again in June to start our summer music series off\, and the squad sounded great. \nThe opener will start at 8 pm and is TBD. \n“We are a Hillbilly band out of Southwest Michigan who plays with a very but hardly traditional sound. In the world of today we would be called Americana\, for there are no songs about Trucks or beer. We do our own songs with lyrical content ranging from the epidemic of Crystal Methamphetamine to story’s of youth\, family and love. Through our music\, we try to inspire truth\, a simple yet lost concept of the world we know today. through our performance\, you will hear hints of Bluegrass\, Rock\, Country Western and maybe even Metal music for our inspiration and backgrounds vary quite differently. This band is made up of all family and close friends from a part of the world that is often overlooked but holds some of the hardest working men and women of the United States. We aim for a raw honest sound and try to channel days that are gone by being us\, not sticking to a stereotypical recipe that is so often supported and held high\, and by doing that we come out with an old-timey but relevant noise that we hope translates to all.” – Myron Elkins and the Dying Breed

SUMMARY:August 29 | Doug Henthorn Band
DESCRIPTION:Doug’s been changing the oil in a number of projects since founding and fronting the now disbanded blues-rock band Healing Sixes (2000-14). His debut release ‘Cold Medicine’ (2016) is a crafty and brooding songscape with more of a focus on voice and lyric than his previous H6’s era. His current release “The LLC” (2019) is a fun barebones rock record with a healthy dose of newly termed ‘Alternative Blues’. \nDoug is a singer\, guitarist\, songwriter\, performer and producer. Sometimes all at the same time. \nBesides his current solo project and Healing Sixes\, Doug has shared his voice and/or guitar skills with notables such as Joe Bonamassa\, John Hiatt\, Jason Bonham\, and Beth Hart to name a few.\nDoug performs and records all over the US and abroad while maintaining his residence in central Indiana. \nhttps://doughenthorn.com/home \nhttps://www.facebook.com/thehenthornllc/

SUMMARY:August 8 | Michigan Rattlers
DESCRIPTION:Come to Michigan Rattlers only scheduled show in 2020 at Coyote! Link to prepurchase tickets: https://www.facebook.com/events/307520726969362/\n\nOnly selling 125 tickets\, so get them while they’re still available!\n\nLifelong friends and deep-north natives\, Michigan Rattlers play heavy-hearted folk-rock with an aching dose of Midwestern nice. Graham Young (guitar)\, Adam Reed (upright bass)\, and Christian Wilder (piano) began writing music and performing together in their Northern Michigan high school.\n“Petoskey is a small place. Beautiful\, but secluded. It’s hard to start a musical career in a place where there are more deer than people.”\nStill\, they regularly played every bar\, cafe\, and stage in town\, developing a musical chemistry informed by the likes of AC/DC\, Creedence Clearwater Revival\, Bob Seger\, and more.\nAfter a few years apart\, Reed and Young settled down in Los Angeles\, recorded a short demo\, and began playing locally. The demo found its way into the hands of super-producer Johnny K (Plain White T’s\, 3 Doors Down)\, and they cut the bulk of their first EP at NRG Studios in just one day.\n“My favorite music is recorded that way\,” continues Reed. “You get in a room\, plugin\, and cut songs live. The energy of the recording comes directly from the physical performance\, and it puts the listener into that specific time and place.”\nThis self-titled Michigan Rattlers EP attracted glowing reviews from No Depression\, Bluegrass Situation\, B3 Science\, and Rolling Stone\, who named the band one of their “Ten New Country Artists You Need To Know” in 2016. They spent the rest of that year and much of the next touring in support of this release.\nIn September 2017\, Pianist Christian Wilder was added to the band’s lineup. Now a trio\, the group headed into the studio to record their newest EP\, Wasting the Meaning. Comprised of three cover songs\, the project was conceived as a way to explore deeper into the recording process and pay homage to some of their favorite songwriters.\n\nhttps://www.facebook.com/michiganrattlers/\nhttp://www.michiganrattlers.com/

SUMMARY:July 18 | Luke Winslow King
DESCRIPTION:Luke Winslow-King’s latest album is an example of craftsmanship at the highest level\, radiating a warmth and timeless elegance. Adept at mixing country\, blues\, R&B\, rock ‘n’ roll\, and folk influences intuitively and masterfully\, Luke shapes a mood from many sources and shepherds it to a unifying place of acceptance and hope. Blue Mesa is both stately and approachable\, manifestly proficient but deeply personal. \nWhat sets this album above the singer and guitarist’s previous work is how he’s absorbed the offerings of a life in music. Born and raised in the Northern Michigan town of Cadillac\, he moved to New Orleans at 19 and spent the next 15 years fully immersing himself in the musical waters that flow through there. Now that he’s moved on\, it is the larger world\, and the people and places in it\, that enthralls him. From these travels and friendships comes a deeper and richer perspective on the American musical traditions he fell in love with at an early age. \nFrom the first track\, Luke effortlessly draws the listener into his genre-expansive\, dynamic world. “You Got Mine\,” co-written with friend and legendary local musician “Washboard” Lissa Driscoll (who passed away in September 2017)\, enchants with its laid back grace. Delicate touches of Paul Simon and Robert Cray color this paean to unconditional friendship and camaraderie. With crisp guitar lines evoking Mike Campbell\, the gospel-tinged call-to-action “Break Down the Walls” and the easy-country amble “After the Rain” sit astride the solemn and the uplifting. The subtle Stax-inflected soul of the title track casts a disintegrating relationship against the inspirational scenery of the desert Southwest. “Farewell Blues\,” a song written after he found out about his late father’s cancer diagnosis\, has a resolute drifter’s wandering heart to guide it. \nBut no matter where he goes\, the current of the Crescent City still tugs at Luke’s music. The sweaty riffs of “Thought I Heard You” are as hot as the beer is cold and the syncopated horns on “Chicken Dinner” are a big\, playful flirtation. The psychedelic swamp boogie of “Leghorn Women” brims with charm\, both suave and sinister\, while the Tom-Petty-on-the-levee vibe of “Born to Roam” makes it a classic-in-the-making road trip anthem. \nBlue Mesa was recorded across the globe in the Tuscan fortress village of Lari\, Italy and features long-time collaborator and Italian blues guitar dynamo Roberto Luti\, Chris Davis of King James and the Special Men\, and Mike Lynch (Bob Seger\, Larry McCray) on organ\, among others. \nLuke Winslow-King has collaborated with New Orleans legends and wunderkinds alike\, including Dr. John\, John Boutté\, Luti\, Little Freddy King\, Washboard Chaz\, and Meschiya Lake. In addition to holding down residencies at numerous venues and releasing four studio records over the course of nine years\, he has toured extensively in North America and Europe\, appearing on notable stages such as Austin City Limits\, New Orleans JazzFest\, Azkena Rock Festival (Spain)\, Paradiso (Netherlands)\, Maverick Festival (UK)\, and countless more. \nhttps://lukewinslowking.com/ \nhttps://www.facebook.com/LukeWinslowKingMusic/

SUMMARY:June 13 | Myron Elkins & The Dying Breed
DESCRIPTION:“We are a Hillbilly band out of Southwest Michigan who plays with a very but hardly traditional sound.
